Happy B-Day Me, 2007
I just turned another year older today. I'm not quite where I was last year at this time.
I'm listening to Bob Marley's youngest son Damian jam out right now. And the Arctic Monkeys, QOTSA, Satellite Party, Bowie, Thin Lizzy, Dangermouse, Grohl, Alan Moulder/Flood, Terry Date, Nigel Godrich, Beck, and Interpol.
The state of the world in 2007 disgusts me . The war, the corruption, and the criminal mentalities walking around free right now is crazy. I have tended to be pessimistic and sad about what the world is right now. Starvation, war, poverty, homelessness, medical corruption, genetically modified food and animal, tabloid tv world, AIDS, legal guns, Corporate Monopolies, and a terrible paid-off Media that has NO backbone at all. When I need to watch BBC news to see what's going on in the rest of the world.
The real estate market has also ticked me off this past year. Trying to buy a condo has taught me alot about the system and capitalism. Over-inflated prices paired with Sales. A crazy combination. A system right now where 40% of homebuyers are foreclosed on within the first year. They are building like crazy everywhere, no one is buying it, and they are charging way too much. The bubble will burst in a few years and alot will lose out on trying to cash in on selling real estate.
But I have turned over a new leaf today. To Optimism. To Hope. Skepticism has taken it's toll on me, but will not ever leave me. I just have to say that at this point in my life, my negativity serves me no purpose or good. It's just that it sucks to focus on life enough to be bummed out by it. The Bible-belt will talk of the Hope told in scripture. But that does not give me Hope, it's the years of seeing something in everything that changed me.
Some will say it's old age. The youthful spirit gives up its fight against the system. Yeh, once you work long enough and become part of the system, it takes it's toll. But I am not giving up my dreams. They have kept close to me my whole life. I just didn't have the finances to move on all my crazy ideas earlier on in my life. Had to work to get to do what I wanted. But it paid off.
This goes out to Paul McCartney and Meghan who's birthday it also is today. XOXOXOX
