Is it a book written by man, or by God? I know I can prove it's a book written by many men over many years.....and compiled by many men over many years. That's indisputable. But where does God fit into it. To meet one man who says he's talked to God raises my walls. That's hard to prove without seeming crazy. Most people don't claim they've talked to God, but these guys do. ! maybe. But the next 300, I've got my doubts. Just something on a Tuesday night. Thoughts????
I saw these guys at Scubas on 1/20/07 and they rocked. I thought the album was good, but after seeing them, I thought it was great. They jam.
A blues influence plus all of classic rock. The lead singer is a white guy much like a young black crowes or ac/dc reject, but he has chops and he likes using them. tall, rock and roll parallel look. nice guy too, i met him. Matt Whyte. then there's Kamara Thomas. A black female bass player who can sing and play. she played fender rhodes bass and sang one song I saw. She wails and is much like the Thin Lizzy singer and Hendrix with a couple feathers in her hair. And she gets down! The drummer, well, he kicks the beat that kicks your brain. A cross between Buddy Miles, John Bonham, and Paul McCartney (on drums). They all kick it. The album has it. I think it's great after hearing it after seeing them live. I saw them to about 30 people. Quiet, except for them. I have heard ringing in my ears for 3 days afterwards! But it's all good.
When I saw them I thought, these guys are the next big thing. I saw the White Stripes two times, plus the Raconteurs once. These guys are up there. They had IT. Pure roots rock plus a modern dynamic. They say they only use retroo where it seems they need it. I believe them. Good album "SOFT TARGETS" and phenomenal live show.
5 out of 5 thumbs.
Here's their first major single "SOS". It's a rocker. Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, and The Beatles. Nice. Support them and see them live!
