The Raconteurs

ok. these guys rock, hard! jack white decided to form a band with his fellow detroit natives the greenhornes. they opened for the stripes last time i saw them. but the greenhornes are mellow. with jack white they are proto-zeppelin and skynyrd rapped up with some CSNY. now a raconteur means this "One who tells stories and anecdotes with skill and wit" alla the french word. cool meaning. but they should have just called the band "one who tells stories and anecdotes with skill and wit"! the racs is one of THE worst band names ever to me (it would sink most bad bands!), even though the def is cool. i wish they would have picked something more easyyyyy. but i will see if the band name haunts them. i saw the racs in san fran last friday and they rocked. really. jack white as i have already said is a near hendrix in today's times. everything he touches turns to gold. like dave grohl. naturally they should work together. anyways, their first album is really good. a few slow songs, but more upbeat ones. the above video for level is my favorite song on the album. blue veins is one of the best modern blues songs i have heard. broken down soldiers features jack singing the best robert plant impersonation i have ever heard. plus the zep vibe. acoustic and electric. there is a nice vocal interplay between white and brendan benson. white likes having two vocalists. plus a bass player, keyboard player, 2nd guitarist, drummer, and other singer. and i have been waiting for this to happen. i just wanted the stripes to add a bass player for years. this is what i would want from the stripes. pick it up. jack can rock!!!
