Coldplay "X&Y"
You can tell the boys have been listening to all the 80's nostalgia music that the rest of today's bands are gobbling up too. They out-did themselves on this album though. If you like their sound, they produced this album far better than their last. By adding multiple vocalists, organs, harmonica, and keyboard sounds, they create a much more diverse and complex album than anything previous. i did notice a new trend in that a bunch of new songs start really quietly and slowly get to a slightly more busy sound. My only knock is that they have really slow starts that don't pump people up to wait 2 minutes to then wake up to whatever they switch to. it's been a hard album to DJ songs off of becuz they all have these slow parts that would just kill a party (unless there were just tons of yuppie girls there). trax to check out: square one, fix you, a message, low, and the last "bonus" song. i like these guys and i thought this was another "good" one. There are a few songs just too slow (when i'm dancing) so i have to skip by them, but most of their albums have these songs too (good for falling asleep or snuggling). I give this album 4 out of 5 thumbs. It lacks the crazy-ass jass fusion i like to get in order to earn a 5th thumb!
